UK Retailer; Tomato – Commercial Pilot 2015

The Opportunity

To extend the shelf life of tomatoes for the retailer without compromising eating quality, using two example varieties: Cherry on the vine and Mixed baby plum.

The Approach

A 3 month commercial pilot with It’s Fresh! in one of the retailers’ depots, with Best Before dates extended by 3 days, compared to control depots with normal code life.

The Outcome

In-store waste was down by 71% and sales were up by 2.3% in the It’s Fresh! depot,compared to the controls.
